I don't know, one of the great things about Jamaica was the great rates for airfare and easy access. We were Continental flyers out of Newark, NJ. Now we are United. They used to fly every day. Now they only fly out on Sat or Sun. Oh well. Then they moved the 7 am flight to 10. We have done a lot of switching around. We have tried a number of ways. In Jan '12 our air fare was $248 r/t pp. In May we planned the trip rather late and it was around $500 we paid with points. We flew out of Philly with a park stay and fly plan on a Weds. We are planning a trip for '14 with our family out of Philly and the flights are around $420. Guess that is what it is. We will be paying with miles. We want to bring our "kids" along for this trip so they can be part of our vacation experience for the past 6 years. But I must say, all things considered, we will be looking at other island vacations for future trips. The airfare is now on par with a number of islands that seem very much like places we would like to explore. Jamaica taught us that eating local is a fabulous way to go. There is good food on all the islands. I think after this family trip we will be branching out, all things considered. Heck if we have to pay around 500 we could pretty much go anywhere and do things at a reasonable rate. I don't like the idea of leaving Jamaica behind, but we can go to many islands considering the airfare difference....
