I tried Matrix. My experience is that booking the flights directly with the airlines is either not available and/or is not the price quoted. Have no idea why but that was my reality.
I'll wager you anything you like that the price list on the Matrix is also listed on the airline website.I am Not affiliated with them - just have used this software for many years and the price listed there is the lowest you will find - unless you get a charter flight just trying to fill up, last minute. I have never had a problem booking directly through the airline websites. The airlines from IND to MBJ are typically $1.00 cheaper than the lowest price for the exact flight you will find on Expedia, Travelocity, etc.
