What a great question. I love your momentos Clarity.
Courtney is such a cool and talented guy.....most of my favorite momentos are connected to a special person or a gift from someone special.
My apt is filled with JA things in every room but some of the special pieces are a handmade basket, large carved bowl, huge shell.....all birthday gifts. My Karl Ricketts paintings are very special to me also.
I have the same carved doctor bird as you Clarity (lol) it sits pon my microwave in the kitchen (not sure why I picked that location).
If I have to pick my very favorite though its my big dried ponciana tree seed pod (also a gift).

A small banana knife that I acquired in Sav years ago. I keep it in my desk and use it as a letter opener. It looks like a five star without the ratchet mechanism. The blade says O K A P I and there is a picture of a giraffe or a hyena on it. I think it says that it was made in Germany but it is so worn that I can't tell. It was cheap to buy and doesn't look like much but I like it.

So many, some in vinettes around the house. The palm tree with carved parrots and birds in a corner of the basement, dolphins and fish swimming in front of the fireplace, a plethora of carvings and old spice bottles and cigar boxes on the screened in porch and of course bright paintings lighting up various walls.

But if I had to prioritize my Village from Fidel in the craft market is dear to my heart. Some purchased over the years, some gifted.

Even then, for the story as much as the physical, I love my Marley Birthday Bash sign and my 6 grand traffic ticket.

And what a souveneir the Pickeled Parrot sign would have been, but alas like many of the best it is only a souveneir of the mind to be shared over rum on an easy evening with friends.

I have won many awards in a lifetime of competition and service. But the highest was offered without plaque or fanfare on a hilltop in post Ivan Jamaica. A true Rasta and a dear friend observed "Chet you are like a father of men, you see need and fulfill that need without being asked". Let us be travelers and not tourist.

Pickeled Parrot t-shirt still in the plastic wrap is one that I'm now so happy I bought. Telephone book cover from 2000 with Bob Marley on it is one I have framed and everyone always likes. Also, one of those Guinness rubber mats from the bar is special to me.

The paintings are one of my faves but really anything my late husband bought is special to me (even though at the time I thought he was buying to much stuff) !!!
