My mind is never off the countdown! It begins as soon as love of my
life and I board the plane to return home. We always travel to JA right after Easter,so the calendar comes out on the flight home,and the countdown begins!

I usually do an excursion in the summer. Last year we went to Vegas for my birthday. I think I am going to book a week around my birthday this year in Negril. Will see how these flights work out this year. If they are not too much hassle I think that's going to be what the plan is.

Once I've set a date most of my free time goes into planning.
Extensive planning is almost like extending the trip - if that makes any sense.
Planning gives me several (mental) trips to JA.

Even if I don't post it, I write a trip report about the previous reach. Looking at the pictures over and over keeps me together. Oh and I SHOP constantly.
to get my mind-right, and to catch-up on '.whagwan.' on the island, by:
- daily, doing a LOT of listening to Power106-FM (live internet radio from Jamaica)
- listen to '.Dear Pastor.' nightly
- daily read online Gleanor, Star and Observer newspapers
- frequently check the Jamaican government website

I don't have to do a lot of extensive planning unfortunately. We have been to Jamaica enough that we kind of just hit the ground running and do our thing. I may plan a fancy dinner in the cliffs this year but we have a condo so we are going to be doing the majority of our cooking and such ourselves. I am a bit of an amateur chef and perfected several Jamaican recipes. My wife and I love Jamaican food so it will be fun to actually cook it there for once. Give me a chair and the gravity effects from the sand and I am good to go!

When you say condo are you talking like a RCI (condos all around the world type operation) or is this something strictly local?
Its at the NBCC. Its a studio type apartment with a full kitchen. We have stayed there many times but in the Mariners part of the resort. This year I wanted the kitchen. Got a heck of a price.
