Depends on what you like. I can't sit still long enough for cliffs.

The West End is so comfortable and laid back compared to the beach.
I usually get to the beach a couple or three times during a stay, but I wouldn't want to live there!
Seastar Inn is perfect for us and another visit is coming in January.

I'm all about a six mile beach walk every morning, Rondel to the end of Sandals Negril and back. That being said, you can't beat the view from Catcha, Tensing Pen, etc. I'll do a couple nights on the cliffs for my trips in the near future, but just for the walk the majority of my time will be on the beach. Cliffs are awesome though....and I definitely understand the attraction and the laid back atmosphere.

It's very mellow. nice relaxed pace.... If this is your 1st time, I'd start with a 30%/70% Cliffs/Beach stay...
Stayed in The Cliffs at Home Sweet Home Resort at the end of April, instead of the beach for the 1st time in 7 trips to Negril...
Enjoyed it a lot during the day, but at night when I was used to the sounds of the beach, I kinda missed the beach... If I had 10 days, I'd do 7 on the beach and 3 in The Cliffs...

    Happy Travels

On the West End; a morning walk can be very relaxing. Starting at the top of Seastar Lane; go even deeper west; up past Ricks, the Lighthouse, Caves, and on and on (mind the goat droppings) and stop to rest at Out of Town Pastrys. A nice beef patty and Red Stripe or even a stiff OP Rum for the walk back.
As Mr. Glenzee would say; It's all good!

I've done the west-end walk almost all the way to Westender...and while very cool, not the same view as the beach, especially once you take the left turn away from the water and walk that last mile towards Westender...that being said I will be on that walk in less than 30 days....and I can't wait!!!

You could also stay on the beach the whole time but stop at a cliff place and ask if they have an open room for one nt.Offer cash money 1/2 what they ask,is they say no,so what?

I may want to finish off a trip with a short stay on the cliffs. Catcha cottages do look super mellow. Do they do 1 nighters?

Not sure about single nights at Catcha,be worth calling ar emailing them to see.We stayed 2 nights last year and then moved to the beach but we are splitting this trip with 5 at the beach and then 5 at Catcha,it's to nice of a place to stay for any shorter time!!
