    This is a sad question

We were big fans of Alfred, for a lot of reasons, mostly because he was a decent guy.

Is there anyone driving who is close to that knowledgeable (he could remember the beach when the sea grapes came down to the water) or even close to having his charisma?

    Sorry, even asking saddens me.

We were also huge fans of Alfred and were saddened by his sensless passing only weeks after returning home from the rock. I think they broke the mold when Alfred was made. He was a very special guy. In his absense we have used an old friend of his, Kinglsey James. Nobody has Alfred's great persoanlity but I did very much enjoy using Kingsley and won't hesitate to recommend him. I think he operates under the name of Take Care Tours. He and Alfred worked together for many years at Xtabi (I believe) and he can relate some old stories. Very nice man. Punctual, honest and reasonable in every way.

I considered Alfred to be the "Ambassador of Jamaican Tourism".
    We still miss him.

We used Rocky from Rocky's Taxi and Tours. We used him for 5 different transportation requirements on our last reach, He was great, very knowledgable, funny, polite, extremely punctual and his major concern was our safety. He might be a little more than a few others but after what we have seen recently on the Forum I like the idea of his effort to guarantee our safety. He is great for groups as well as private transportation.

I'll second Kingsley.... He has been driving approx 20 years and was friends with Alfred. Cheapest private advertised ride I have seen as well at $50 for 1-2 MBJ to Negril

I second that emotion!! Alfred was a true friend. I met him at Xtabi, as well as Kingsley. His passing was a true tragedy. I miss him still. I can highly recommend Kingsley James. He has also remained a dear friend as well as a dependable driver. Last time I saw Alfred was at Red Dragon. He was coming down the road and saw me crossing the street to head in Red Dragon. He pulled off the road and yelled a smiling "wah gwann" and we met and hugged. Truly, a great way to part! Much love and respect to a wonderful human being!!!

Breaks my heart to see those of you who obviously had a dear friend lost to soon. Respect to his family and friends. Whenever I reminisce of someone lost dear to me I commit to doing something good. Little or big, just do something nice for someone. That's at least how I cope......
