don't forget...if you buy it at the airport, and you do not have a direct non stop flight, you must put those bottles into your checked luggage before going through customs....been there...done that!

Just remember if you have a layover, all that you bring back will have to be checked!
    Happy holiday family time!

I'm SO glad you both brought that up.

I forgot to add the layover part to my initial question!!

    THANKS!

On my return trip in Jan, the airport liquor store ran completely out of banana rum cream so I had to buy regular rum cream (I brought back 10 bottles) - still very good but I miss tha banana rum cream. On my August trip, I plan to take bubble wrap and purchase a few bottles at the grocery store and put in my checked luggage.

Be careful when bringing back liquor and rum cream etc...if you are not flying direct (nonstop) you will have to put it in your suitcase instead of carry on...liquid rules apply when going through customs and security in the U.S.
Even if it is packaged up, you will need to stow it in your checked luggage.

i did wrap up a large bottle of rum cream and placed in my checked luggage.... in baltimore i had to go through a special line and xray machine...i couldnt figure out why, and customs not willing to explain...when i got home , the bubble wrap was cut off around the neck of the bottle... when i took out my luggage this year,a customs form fell out stating they had gone through my luggage...!!!!!

So you can pack the bottles in your carry on as long as you're on a non-stop flight home? I wasn't sure if the liquid restriction would still apply? I have always checked the bottles in the past to be safe.

From JA directly to your destination with no stop - you can carry your liquor as carry on but it cannot be placed in the overhead bins so it's at your feet BUT this is only for liquor you purchase at the airport. Liquor purchased prior to the airport has to be placed in your checked lugagge.

I always get put through that special line and they can go through my bags as it's always full of dirty clothes and my damp beach towel. In Baltimore as soon as you pass through immigration, my papers have a big "A" written on top for Agriculture which is the same as the xray machine line. I have better luck if it's late and they are short staffed.
