    Hotel opinions

    Hello everyone,
I'm hoping you could help me make a decision. I'm going to be married in Negril next April. We kind of slacked on finding a place for us to stay the night of our wedding and the next few days after.
    I tried:
Tensing Pen (wedding night was booked, but the nights after were not... not sure if i feel like moving twice during our mini honeymoon)
    Rockhouse (completely booked)
Catcha (the nicer rooms were all booked which I think is expected)

I think you can see the type of feel we're going for... more privacy and seclusion. I love the sea side bungalows at TP and Rockhouse, so I've been looking for something similar to that. I usually don't mind 'rustic' ($3 for 3 people in a room in Bolivia is as low as I'll go ) but it is the wedding week and I'd like something more on the nice side... I've been looking at Citronella and Hide Awhile.... This is of course if they have availability which I hope to determine tomorrow. What do you think? Any other opinions? I also don't mind staying on the beach but I would like some sort of 'getting away' feeling...

    Thanks in advance!

Did you try Villa Sur Mer? It's just down from Catcha and looks very beautiful and romantic.
    Good luck!

Hide Awhile seems to be very nice. Its past the lighthouse but it might be something your looking for. Moondance Cliffs looks amazing as well!

If you want to consider the beach, instead of cliffs, you might look at Country Country. They have single cottages, with an awesome breakfast included. Or, I've never stayed there, but the honeymoon suite at Kuyaba looks nice. Or maybe BeachHouse villas.

I have stayed in the honeymoon suite at Kuyaba, and it's very nice and spacious. But if you are comparing it to the newer, more expensive rooms at Catcha - or the pillars at Rockhouse - it's not in the same league IMHO. The room is comfortable and large, with a comfortable bed and it's kept spotless, but does not have the "privacy and seclusion" you want. The food at Kuyaba is amazingly good, and they have a birds-eye table that is perfect for a romantic meal, but I don't think their honeymoon suite is what you're looking for.

You’re in the exact same predicament I was in a while back!
I wanted to find somewhere special for the night of our 10 year wedding anniversary.
My first thought was Tensing Pen (booked)
Second thought was Rockhouse (entirely booked out)
Our wedding was on 4/20 and apparently that’s the most popular date for marriages in Jamaica. (go figure!)

Then someone told me about Villa Sur Mer. We had the most romantic and amazing anniversary ever. It could not have been more perfect for us. The staff is incredible, the grounds are lush, beautiful and VERY private. There is a lagoon pool and a cave that leads underground to the ocean.

Here’s some video of we took at Villa Sur Mer on our anniversary day

    Here are some pictures:

It was an beautiful experience that I’ll never forget.

The other suggestions are good as well, if you’re looking for a stay on the beach. I agree that the honeymoon suite at Kuyaba looks really awesome. I’ve also heard good things about Moondance cliffs. It looks beautiful there too. I hope you find the perfect place for your wedding night!

Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials, it is an exciting time. My wife and I are staying at Little Waters Villa on the West End just past the Lighthouse in July. It is an awesome property that you will have all the privacy you want (except for your own) personal cook and a housekeeper. I have been going to Negril for many years and have stayed at many properties (excluding the AI's) and each has its own charms. But for a very special occassion such as a honeymoon, this would be my choice. Good Luck
