We ventured over to the boardwalk this past trip in May. It was a rainy afternoon. We have been to the cliffs, Bloody Bay and the "main" stretch of Long Bay. We had never been by Sandals and thought we would like to see that spot. It was nice, the Red Stripe was cold and we liked the Beach White shop. The cove still felt a little penned in for us so we know that the area around Idle Awhile/Charela Inn is still the place on the beach for us.
Love the shops at the Boardwalk!! When we were there in April, there was a dj on the beach. Lots of fun. Enjoy...
We spent a day at Boardwalk Village during our trip last month. It's touristy, for sure, but the beach is nice and the hustle is nonexistent. There was a DJ on the beach and a water trampoline, which is fun. As someone else said, the food is expensive and I found it to be below average. You may want to walk next door to Our Past Time to see if Fireman has his grill going. There was a cart selling coconut waters for $5. I asked the guy if they had jelly in them and he said he didn't know. When I finished the water we looked inside the coconut and there was no jelly. The shops are nice and some of the shopkeepers are willing to bargain. I paid in Jamaican currency and they gave me change in USD. Kinda like bizzaro beach vendors.
Also, when we arrived, the place was kinda quiet and we enjoyed it for a while. After an hour or so, a tour bus stopped by and dropped off a bus load of people. I think they may have been cruise ship people, but I'm not sure. We were concerned that they would take-up all the lounge chairs, but it wasn't that bad. However, it was funny to see the look on some their faces when I pulled out my after lunch sub, Hehehe.
They have NFL football there????Never knew that, beats going to Margaripoffville.
Whenever I am coming into Negril, I always stop at the cambio and exchange money if it is needed. They usually post the rates for currancy on a board out by the road. The office is very clean and has ac blasting and the people who work there are very nice.
Hmmm...think I will check this place out on my next reach.![]()
I'm still laughing from the Margaripoffville comment.......nice one!
Miss G and I kinda enjoy an afternoon at Margaritaville
