Lady Jane,
I will keep you updated. The progress on the sidewalk has been happening rather quickly - the stretch up to Coco has much less obstacles in the way, so they may be able to complete this section - stay tuned for more updates.

Sometimes it's better to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission.
I posted one back in July for our Negril Today page:

It looks just like a sidewalk... (grin)

That is the only photo I have posted so far... maybe you are thinking of the median photo that was featured on the Negril Today page prior, or maybe confusing it with some one else's photo.
It looks just like sidewalk.... there is really nothing unusual about it... so far....![]()

Quick Question:::>>> Yes or No::::: are they mixing the cement '..by-hand..' ...???..
i.e., bags of cement + water + a bunch-o'-rocks/pebbles/stones + water [[[ WITHOUT machines ]]]
be hapPpy
one-more question(s)::>> the sidewalk build-ing crew
would i be correct if i say:::>>>> the *crew* consists of 2-3 boss-types, with white hard-hats,
with 4-6 men (maybe 2-3 women) doing the actual-work.
... ??? ...

Now that, Smith, sounds like the good ole USA
Backhoes to clear the path of the sidewalk, road rollers to smooth the rock/stone/pebble base surfaces, pre-manufactured re-bar to cover the base, cement trucks bringing and pouring the concrete, several workers to rough and detail the surface....
The sidewalk is large enough for all the equipment to fit comfortably on it - about 12 feet wide. It is pretty much exactly what you think you will see when any major sidewalk project is being built anywhere...

Of course in the areas that have recently been jackhammered to redo or repair something and the curbs that are being added, a worker or two will be handling that in a much smaller fashion with the wheel barrow and trowel as needed. But I do believe your description does sound more like the USA road work image...
