Back from the most beautiful place on earth..IMO
The weather was perfect, the beach is beautiful as usual...was really slow, not too many people on the beach tried to buy as much as i could from the vendors walking/working the beach..really tough times when it slows down...it's just crazy how some people dont even bother to give them a chance...there was a couple lounging on the beach, i had just bought a pineapple and it was soooo delicious from the fruit lady, the couple said no to her and she just smiled and went on...i walked over to the couple and offered them some of my pineapple, after one slice...the man went running down the beach to buy his own...
the young fella that sells the banana bread and cookies...omg it's to die for delicious, and he has the most beautiful smile.
My first 5 days were Bliss, Except for one female beach girl, really pissed me off...she asked me if I wanted braids I was super polite and said no thank you, then she says you want some aloe, i said no thanks , then she says...ugh -this still makes my blood boil, how about a rasta man?, you need one of those??? I said to her, hold on let me ask my husband he's just in water snorkeling and I pointed over at him, she went on with her, respect, one love BS. I told my husband and then he of course had to hunt her down and give her a piece of his mind, and a LESSON on how to treat tourists, he was not happy, and of course she was sitting next to a rasta man,(perhaps the one she had in mind for me)...he then started telling her that's not right and made her apologize to me! it was awkward, but I was insulted, and I hope she never says that to anyone again.
Went to Canoe, thought it was webcast day, it wasnt! planned for Saturday Seastar, but then was told they were done webcasts for summer? not sure if that's true, couldnt use my ipad...so we just basically chilled and enjoyed the beach.
ok...now for my own personal hell...
I live in Canada, where it's freakin cold...I rarely get sick...Holy Mother...Went to bed and felt the back my ear was sore, I thought, weird...there was no water in it and it wasnt plugged, just sore, I slept through the night...woke up and it was plugged, couldnt hear anything, took some advil, felt better ..that night night felt like my ear drum had burst of course it's Saturday, went to the pharmacy, gave him my symptoms, he gave me some antibiotics and pain killers..figured thank God, hope this kicks in real quick...ummm nope... I have really cried in 20 years because of pain I cried my eyes out every night, I remember Rob telling me about Dr Foster, so first thing 9:00 am the office opens we are there even before the staff show up, they caME AT 9:05, they say the doctor doesnt come untill noon........by this time, I could barely walk...not to mention I cant hear anything for 4 days already, i felt like i was about to go mad...my poor husband tried everything to ease my pain, so he takes me to another Doctor, Dr.Grant I think a lovely Jamaican lady doctor, she says my ear infection has now absessed around the ear canal, and was very serious...so it was time for a needle in my bottom...........a real STINGER! enough to make me yelp out loud....anyways that took another day to kick in, I flew home on Wednesday with my ear in not great condition, it was very risky as the pressure from the plane could have caused some serious damage, but I survived...it wasnt plesant to say the least...Back in Canada now 2:25 am ear is still plugged, and I'm counting down for my doctor's office to open.
It's never happened before and I sure as hell hope it never happens again, thankfully my insurance will cover the medical costs.
I'm still pretty shaken from the accident on Norman Manley Blvd, I was standing the very spot it happened less than a minute before,I had just crossed the street and gone into the second locked up gate to NBCC, and heard a thump, not a good thump and then a loud bang, my husband was inside the gate waiting for the guard to come unlock it
when i looked through the gate there was a car that was flipped over and hit the tree infront of the gym, by the time the guard opened the gate there were people gathering and saying "man dead" I felt weak in the knees and nautious, my husband told me to get in the car and look away, we were both very shaken by the sound...I pray for whomever was in that car, that they survived...but by the looks of that accident, it's hard to say if someone can actually survive that, the worst part too, we didnt hear any brakes screeching, just the thump then the bang! Please be careful on the main road, extreme caution at all times.
Hopefully Christmas will be a better trip!!
