It was nice to meet you Georgia. You got a better deal than me for the mango. She charged me $500 JA. I also thought it was a bit much. I realize she works hard walking up and down the beach and peels it for you but I only had one at that price. Other years I would get one every day. When they are "in season" at home the price is $1.00 each. Glad you had a great trip.

the condos that you make reference to are actually townhomes and villas for the most part, all privately owned. if you want a beautiful view with private beach and nice pool there may be folks there you could contact for a stay if so desired

Hey, Georgia, we were at the Boardie Bash also, must have missed meeting you. We did have a look at Firefly while we were at the bash, thought it looked interesting, but were a little confused as to what spaces you would actually be renting and for what price. How did you like staying there, apart from the price? Was it quiet, clean? Thanks for any input.

The sunset picture was taken from our little balcony on our room (3rd floor of the pink building) I will attach a pic here of our room from the water - this room was compact, but had a kitchenette and we like to do some of our own cooking. It's our second time to stay there and last time we stayed in the little cottage behind the bar. Both rooms rent for $200 a night during high season. There are slightly lower-priced rooms at the back of the property.
No complaints about cleanliness and everyone working there was pleasant and helpful. Quiet - well, no. At Chances up the beach, there were 2 rave nights on Easter Sunday and Monday. Music (and I use the term loosely) went until 4 a.m. Our windows literally shook and rattled from all the bass.
During the day however, I love this quaint little place. It has just outlived its usefulness for us as it no longer offers clothing-optional.

I must admit that we tried many of the restaurants based on the recommendations we saw here on the forum. The only 2 places we had visited in years past were Tree House and Kuyaba. I still love Kuyaba as it is quite elegant - a little pricier, but I love the twinkle lights at night with the sound of the ocean as a serenade.... oh I am missing Jamaica - aren't we all?!!

How was your stay @ SamSara?

We booked Samsara for $50 a night - cheap, in our opinion, so we went there expecting the worst and knowing we would probably upgrade.
Staff was not overly friendly, but pleasant - we were informed that our room was a cottage across the road. Fair enough, for that price. We checked it out, and it was really cute, and roomy. However, no air conditioning, no ocean view and probably a few too many mosquitoes. We upgraded to a second floor room with ocean view and A/C for $30 more per night. Still cheap.
We had absolutely no problems there. Of course, we only ate one breakfast and 2 lunches there... otherwise we enjoyed the wide variety of nearby dining establishments. We loved Pablo's across the street - $12 for both of us to have french toast, fruit and coffee. Best french toast I think I have ever had.
Samsara was clean and suited us fine. It's a 3.5 star and was fine. What we really loved was the very expansive sunning decks with many levels of cliffs to leap off. Snorkeling was quite good there too.

View of the little cottage across the road - beautiful gardens!

I love Pablo, he's doing some seriously good cooking down there. Cheap too. Last time we just called him with our order and he'd call back when almost ready... Nice guy.
