Saturday-Day 4 Continued...
Remember the glass bottom boat with the hole? We were not sure if it was being fixed or waiting for tourists...but the boat itself looked relatively new. It had unopened life vests onboard. I have never been on a glassbottom boat, so maybe the hole was there for a reason?

While on the pier we looked into the water for fish, we didn't find any but we did see an octopus looking for fish as well. He was so close to the edge of the water, we probably could have scooped it up in a bucket.
Octopus!
Attachment 37757
The octopus finally found himself a fish, he chased it back and forth! What a sight! LOL! We watched in amazement for a few minutes before finding more things of interest.

Further upon on the pier was a docked fishing boat...no one was around...me and my friend decided to take it for a spin...hey you only live once! What's the worst thing that could happen?

Attachment 37759
We carefully look around, make sure no one is watching us and step onto the boat...Hmmm, how do you work this thing? It definitely is not like the car I drive back in the states.
LOL! I'm just kidding! Making sure you guys are still with me!
************************************************** ***
On our way to the west end, we notice a small crowd looking at a boat docked beside the pier behind the China Man's store. Turns out it is the Negril Police...they are filling up a boat for their next patrol.

We begin to walk towards west end, making a trip over at the shopping complex to visit the pharmacist.

I ask her what can I use to stop the mosquitoe bites on my legs from itching. She takes a look at my legs, the bites are red and stand out. She sends her assistant to the back of the store and she brings back a tube of antihistamine cream. I pay up (350J) and we head to a duty free shop to see a friend. Today is our friends birthday but she has to work. We wish her a very happy birthday...We buy more items...mostly shirts, for her to get a good commission.
No more stopping until we reach the light house. We start to walk, taxis and cars pass close by. A bit too close for comfort. There is a curve that is hard to see around, I can't take any chances, so we flag down a taxi instead.
Walking is a bit difficult on west end
Attachment 37762
We breeze by resorts, restaurants, bars, stores all a colorful blur from the taxi. We are here! The lighthouse property is quiet. The puppies and dogs that use to come out and greet us are no longer there. Hopefully they are in good homes. Not another soul is around...we thought...but the lighthouse keeper comes out and says hello. We aren't taking a tour today just, we just decide to look around. The views are breathtaking, water clear. As I look out, over the cliffs, I make a wish, to have this memory forever.

That view is beautiful!

Under a tree is a lady, who is selling conch shells. We say hello and have a seat. She didn't bother us a bit. A few more people arrive with fishing poles, buckets and head towards the cliffs. They climb down the ladder...down, down they go. I look down and whoa! It looked very dangerous...people have mouths to feed though.

Saturday, Day 4 continued...
We stay a few minutes longer, walk back towards the road and flag down another taxi. We get dropped off at a mini mart near Bourbon Beach to get water and snacks. We go back to our rooms and rest up a bit. Man, today is hot! We sit out on the balcony, share snacks and chat. What shall we do next? I pull out my to do list...hmmm, we can't do Blue Hole, definitely can't go to Kingston today, but we can go to Board Walk Village!
We get cleaned up and head out of Legends. The guard asks if we needed help crossing the street. No, just a taxi. We wait until we see a red plate and flag it down. While driving, raindrops start to fall. Oh no!! Please don't ruin my day! The rain that is threatening to fall...doesn't.
Quite a few people are at BoardWalk village. It is a hotel, bar, restaurant, has stores and even caged animals. The first animal we wanted to see was the turtle. We looked, looked and couldn't find it Was it hiding? Someone came up and said they had took it out of the pond for the season but there was a crab and fish to see.
See the crab?

One of the big AI resorts is having an employee appreciation party at Boardwalk Village. We didn't want want to intrude so we just browsed the property. We discovered they grew aloe, banana and coconut trees. Very cool!
Aloe Vera
Attachment 37768
By the aloe vera plant, we noticed a wooden cage. The sign says it is a Mongoose. I've have never seen one up close, just on tv. We peer in at it...aww its so cute! Suddenly it hiss and spits at us! It's not so cute any more. LOL!
Feisty Mongoose
Attachment 37769
After seeing the Mongoose, we wanted to know if there were more animals to see. Yes, there is a rabbit! The rabbit is black and in a wooden cage. He would not come out of his cage. We find some grass, put it in his food tray, and he hops out! The rabbit is big! It was cute but not cuddly!

A loud boom, shakes us from our thoughts. It is beginning to storm, the sky is dark. We should head back to Legends, I say. We stand out and wait for a taxi, none pass by. We stand out near the road for about 10 minutes. I take a few more pictures.

Not one but two BMW's
Attachment 37773
No taxis seem to be outwe cross the street and stand on the opposite side, finally we get a white plate. It will have to do. Everyone seems to know a bad storm is brewing...because as soon as we get to Legends, it pours, and pours for the next 2 hours. During that time we nap and watch tv. I'm getting upset because the rain has put a stop to my plans. Finally it stops, the sun comes back out and dries up the water. It is a bit cooler as well.
It's now around 6:30-7pm...dinner time! We love Jeans Place and have dinner there again. I suggest giving it a try, it is located on fire station road. I have a medium fried chicken meal and she is giving away carrot & ginger juice with each meal. While eating,we watch soccer games. The men there are excited, I don't understand soccer so I don't say much. Some team makes a score, everyone goes crazy! A beggar comes in, asks me for $50j, I say no. Then another beggar comes in, asks me the same question...another no. My friend tells the beggar to ask the other beggar. The second beggar asks the first beggar for $100J, the first beggar looks astonished...they get into it and get shooed away. LOL! That made my night!
We hang out a bit at the ice cream place a bit and watch the activity happening around us, on the streets. The biker boys are chatting up the girls, the fruit lady is selling bananas to a taxi driver, the vegetable guy is bargaining with a customer. I absolutely love it!
Tonight we makes plans to visit Las Vegas...a strip club located on the beach. It is still too early for it to open so we go back to the beach and hang out at a new bar located near Kuyaba. The bar has cheap drinks and snacks. We sit, make friends, find lost friends, we just have a good time. I have a can of redbull and some water. Some of our friends are jetski guys...they are out of work. And the new bar was built in the spot were their jetskis used to be stored at. I buy a round of drinks for the guys...only cost me $1000J. I wished them the best.

The music is starting at Las Vegas, but still isn't open as of yet. While waiting we take pics on the beach, many don't turn out but a few do...
waiting for the party to start!

Attachment 37776
It is now 12pm, I'm tired and sleepy but we still go to Las Vegas. Neon flashing lights, loud music and a half clothed lady greet us. She can barely walk in her heels and stumbles, not cute! Before we are allowed to head upstairs, we are throughly searched. A female searches me, pats my breasts, legs, butt and whatever else she gets her hands on.They also check my phone and purse. I couldn't take my purse in, I had to leave it in a locker. I did take my wallet and put my cell inside of it. No cameras or other flash photography allowed.
We make it upstairs...there is a large boxing ring like stage in the center, roped off sections, a small but well stocked bar. I only spot two dancers, who looked like they had better things to do. The music and flashing lights aren't a good combination. I felt very odd...we left shortly after.
It was around 12:30am when we made it back to Legends...I called it a night.
End of day 4.

Love the TR. The pics are great! Thanks for taking the time to post them all. I've only been gone 7 weeks, but I miss it soooo much. Be back in 3 weeks?? I hope?? And I too will be power walking through to immigration!
ONE LOVE!
MIDIRI (A.K.A. FUD)
Love the pics & your report. That might not have been you I saw power walking since I've seen her again. With so few women out getting fit in the early morning, amazing that I'd see someone who could be your twin. I saw that this other beautiful lady has lots of braids, not free hair like yours. You two look so alike in stature, facial features.
Kaycee thanks for posting your trip report and pictures really enjoyed it.....I lurk a lot don't post much but like reading the reports.
Lovin' the trip report and the pictures! Some of the places you hit are new to me, so I am making a list for my next trip.
I believe the glass bottom boat that you have pictured belongs to Roger, Famous Vincent's first mate. So, it appears that you are correct - it is a fairly new boat. Funny that there is a hole in it.
