    Grocery store?

Ok... so my Queen and I will be trying the EP route for our April reach to Negril... first time, and I'm looking forward to it. But my Queen has some things she cannot do without, whether we are camping in the wild or living large at an AI.

We'll be staying at Negril Palms for the first half of our vaca... and I see on the Negril Beach Strip map that there are a couple of grocery stores nearby. Would they have such things as yogurt, cereal, milk and snacks... as well as beer, soda and rum for her worthless knave? (that would be your's truly...) I know there are some larger stores closer in to Negril, but would rather go for the convenience of something close by if we can.

How about the restaurants in that stretch?... Any good breakfast options that would include cereal or omelettes and such? Good'n'plenty coffee? Reasonable prices? Lunch and dinner, we're sure we can forage our way through... we know there are a lot of options for that from walking this stretch of beach in the past. We just want something more convenient and close at the start of the day.

We are on a mission here... we'll be meeting friends for the second week of our stay at the usual AI... and we are sworn to produce a report from the other side... because we think that's where we are all headed in the coming years. So it is our duty to be a recon party to learn the ins and outs of a more bohemian and real beach style.

Oh... and by the way, our non-AI portion of vaca coincides with the Boardie Bash, at least I think it does. We'll be staying at NG from April 18 to 25, moving over to the AI side on the 25th. What day is the big meetup... or does it occur throughout the week? Anyone else holing up at NG? Hope to meet some of you folks...

This may help...a pdf of all resorts and stores...a little dated (2011) but should serve you well.

Note in the town...past the roundabout, is the HiLo, a supermarket.

Thanks, Papa Georgie... that's the map I already have.... I'm not too concerned about finding a store. Just wondering how well the closer ones might be stocked.

Across the street from the Grand Pineapple on that map is the Shamrock Grocery store. They have pretty much everything except not sure about the yogurt. If not going into town it is the best choice for groceries on the beach. Small but good selection

There's a small store across from Cocolapalm called Mikey's. Make sure he gives you back the "correct" change!!!!

Aaww I llike Mikey but i find he doesn't have a good selection and sort of overpriced. For snacks real milk and the best oj i would check out Shamrock. but if your going to shamrocks it's just another hop skip and a jump to valuemaster in town where you can get everything you want.

ok... so we may need to get to a "real" store to make my Queen happy (and to keep her knave in good "spirits"). How about the breakfast selections in the neighborhood?

To start a special day Treehouse breakfast buffet was 13$ and included fresh juice and fruit, porridge, Jamaican choices including callaloo and festivals, waffles to order, egg and omelet station and bread and pastry selection all with bottomless coffee, wonderful service and a great view of the awakening beach. One of my favourite places in Negril. Say hi to Gail Jackson (owner and boardie)

HiLo in Negril is a nice store; we usually stop at mega mart on the way from the airport. The 24th should be the Boardie thing.
Country Country, Alfreds good breakfast. See you on the beach. 4/18 to 4/28

As far as grocery stores, the store next to the Cool Spot restaurant has a great selection of spirits, wine, beer, and has cereal (hot or cold), milk (boxed or refrigerated) and yogurt, snacks. I always frequent that store when I'm passing by, it has a lot of good selections. Shamrock is another good store to visit, but that's further into town.
My favorite restaurant in that area is Shereta’s Restaurant located at the Sea Wind. Excellent food, great views ocean side. You mentioned your staying at the Palms, make sure you ask for a refrigerator, seeing you may be getting some perishables, plus its nice to have some things cold to drink. Have a pleasant reach!.
