This year's trip will be a little different for me. Occasionally I am a slightly anxious about going this time-I'm going solo and have given up alcohol, much to the amazement of my friends, especially those who have seen me in action in Negril. They still tease me about how I declared the third day of our 2013 trip should be designated "Drinking Day" and the hourly selfies I took chronicling that special occasion. I have given up taking selfies as well.
I love going to beautiful places and doing nothing but this year may be even more mellow than usual. Whenever I wonder if its a good idea to go back, whether I 'll be bored or engage in another epic bout of bingeing - a lyric pops in my head- every little thing's gonna be alright.
One week in Negril gets me through the grind of the next 51 .
Two months from right now, I'll be sitting under a palm tree in a garden having a strong cup of Jamaican coffee along with my Jamaican breakfast, feeling the knots in my neck and shoulders dissolve along with my cares and woes, planning my day of lying on the beach, and then lying in a hammock. I can't wait.
Delta last week had flights for $380 non-stop from Minneapolis. RT Last part of January early Feb. Sunday to Sunday tho. Good deal, but gotta make sure of availability of where your going to stay.
