Thanks MoFromMonroe! I'm thinking this might be the way to go. One of the carry-ons could be a knapsack that could be easily thrown over the shoulders while rolling the big suitcase from hotel to hotel.
And it's actually more than 3 hotels this time...lol

    Awww! Thanks so much Marley!
Can’t wait to *FINALLY* meet you!

I second Gerrg123's recommendation....I don't consider myself high maintenance (did some short trips with just carry on a few times), but when you are on a longer trip.....well, a girls gotta have some options! I still make sure I have essentials in the carry on, but I don't think the 30 dollar fee is too much for the opportunity to have a few choices on a longer trip. I don't have a problem handwashing some things, but I don't want to HAVE TO either. I usually take some of the clothes I am ready to part with and give to ladies where I am staying, this makes room for any purchases I make while there...coffee, coffee, more coffee, all my friends are hooked!

I usually check a bag. I am in your boat this time. That $30 each way is staring me in the face...may I suggest you guys check ONE bag...not two? (hehehehe Markus you know where that will leave you, sorry bro).

(For serrrious: $60 is a DAY's worth of Red Stripe and sub sandwiches.)

That said. I NEED 3-4 hats at all times (except for Jungle nite...grrr). And I GOTTA bring CD's and some music gear...

    Damn. See what you started?

On this trip I over-packed and did not wear half of the stuff I had in my suitcase. I left the maid clothes and toiletries to make room for the rum.

I remember the FIRST time I went to Jamaica, and at the bar outside the exit to the charter buses there was an "experienced" gentleman with his total luggage consisting of a large bag pack and camera case/fanny pack. "I wish I could travel like that," I sighed..His reply was "You CAN....you just CHOOSE not to."

    Enjoy!

Clarity and the rest....I don't see how yall can do the carryons. I guess I am high maintenance because I need variety, I have one very large and one large checked suitcase, a carryon and a personal bag. I bring everything that I have and use at home.

I use Packing Cubes from ebags.com., I use these as dresser drawers. Stack 2 high in hard case luggage, with 2 sides. You never really have to unpack, great for moving from
one place to another. Also, if your bags are searched, they can unzip, without messing up your folded clothes. Ebags.com is fast on delivery, look for promo codes. They are on
    sale now also.

I've seen people do the layers thing before, heck I saw some people doing at while getting their boarding pass because their suitcase was to heavy and they didn't want to pay the extra fee!

Awaiting our return to Negril, 07/01/12

Clarity, The hotels that you are staying will be pleased (for a small fee) to wash anything you need to have washed -therefore the 6 days of clothes can become 2 week's worth of clothes. Also, other than your friends who will love you no matter what you are wearing....everyone you meet the 2nd week will view you as having new clothes anyway. XXX
