Welcome to the Board Prince. Glad to have you join us. There is a lot of great information here so just ask.
Have you been to Jamaica before? Negril? It helped me to make a few visits and research onsite and learn the runnings of things before I stayed for longer. You will want to be mindful of your immigration stamp also to ensure you are legal.

Many choices for long term stays depending on your budget $$. They range from rustic to rock star. It also depends on what amenities you require such as hot water, kitchen, AC, etc and what area of town you are most comfortable in. If you give a bit more information I think boardies can better assist. Best of luck and enjoy your long stay!!!!!

thanks for the response, i have been to Negril twice first at "Nirvana Negril" and secondly at "Jah Freedom guest house" which is up the hill from canoe bar. i am very familiar with Negril and know my way around quite well. my budget is on the cheap side, and i feel like i can get bye on less, hot water, shower, security, electricity, small kitchen would be nice. as far as location i feel like i would like to stay in the west end but am open to other locations. i met a lady from NY who was staying long term at some cottages on norman manley that had a restaurant/motor cycles rental out front,i cant remember the name of the place i remember it was close to XXX and one of the live music venues it was kinda rustic but i think was cheap, i also met an english man who stayed on the west end at a one floor apt close to xtabi and little convenience store that was rustic as well and affordable... just wanted to see what other options there was, i am currently planing a trip to JA at the end of the month and plan on staying at JAH FREEDOM but i wanted to check out some other spots first hand while im there

here is a link to the website of Jah B's which is on Norman Manley Blvd:
    http://www.negril.com/jahbs/rooms.htm

You could also check out Sommerset Village which is on the west end which is very reasonable for longer stays.

Welcome, I shall call you Prince, (cute Sweetness, I liked that). So Prince, if you have stayed at Jah Freedom, your into music I take it and want a different vibe. There is a resort tucked away across the road from Seawind & Country Country called Gardenia Resort. Everything you are looking for, laundry, kitchen, pool, but best of all the music. Musicans local, from Kingston and from many different countries making music, hanging out together. You might check it out..

Hello Priince - Another place to check out (could I have been that lady from NY?) Is Green Leaf Cabins - across from Coco LaPalm, near Elvis Bike Rental & Best of the West Jerk is out front. They offer some reasonable housing options and will work something out for long term stays. Simple/rustic (?) but very clean, safe and offers the basics you mentioned. I don't know many other places first hand but that is mostly because once I found Green Leaf, I stopped looking. It is a family run business - nice people who make me feel at home. Jennifer James is the office manager. 876-957-4677 (876) 429-6438

I stayed for 26 days last November/December at Summerset Village, and was very happy..they do great long term rates, I believe their cottages with kitchenettes start at $600 a month..nice restaurant and pool there too..

Sea Breeze Apartments across the road and toward town a little from the Co Co La Palm. You'll have to call them or stop in - no website.
