Well this is excellent news !!! i;m curious, who is funding and overseeing the management of the ambulance? I know for a fact that in the past it was either at times non-functioning, as well as been ill-equipped along with personnel who didnt even know how to use the defibrillator .And if one has a medical emergency in Negril what is the closest hospital they will be taken too and what level of services do they offer ? I know that Jam is a developing country and will not have anywhere near the same level of care as in the states but as a travel forum I feel people have the right to know the basic facts.. That being said, ALWAYS purchase travel insurance in case to you need to be medevac to Miami,etc..its not $$ and so worth it.. Again, great news but would like to have some of the above questions answered..
