I just don't get it when people judge anyone on what they think is fun and how they spend their vacation....Hats off to the Captain for being secure enough with him self to say he could enjoy an afternoon at M'ville and likes Cruises...WE are all tourist in some way...I love being a tourist that is what we all do on Vacation. But I didn't answer the question about what is cheesiest thing I have seen...Here is mine...Seeing a bunch of folks load up on a bus and head off to the Pelican Bar where beers cost just as much as Rick's and a local has never spent one minute there as a patron. I have taken a boat out there 20 years ago to that reef and fished for snapper and snook....It killed me when they built the bar and all the touriest showed up....If you look at all the pictures posted here we don't all peg the "cool" meter.... It's ironic that this post showed up on the top tourist site about Jamaica...No harm no foul but I try not to judge and don't want to be judged......but I guess I just did..I guess I will put on my Rasta Tam with dread locks and speak broken patios as I order my Cheesbuger in Paradise and sing along with Jimmy then head on up to Ricks for sunset...I found three of the tokens I bought many years ago..are they still good????

Oh one more thing...Yah Mon, Respect everytime....Seen

Dash - you know it's going to be the Soup Kitchen or Fr. Bok's school program. There is already consideration of a revision to the polling system underway.

Well Biggs, our dislikes are similar at least!

Thanks for playing John, and for playing late enough that your option may not build any groundswell of support!

Right on djntam! Sorry 'bout the BK thing...

That is perfectly stated LLAP. I'm just looking for the consensus. Sweetie Pie says "No way on the braids!" when I mentioned it was doing well, then, "So how would YOU get them done?" ha ha...

Did I get more this time? If it happens, you're probably leading the way...

Any other beach places offer all that? Bueller?
Unfortunately, the musical side of the place isn't real appealing. Don't hate his music but the guy? Not so much...

Sweetie Pie was not big on the Ricks vibe either, we were there maybe 10 minutes in February.

That just might do it, that would probably make more in donations than I would spend on the braiding so it's a win-win-win situation. Well, for everything but my highly protected cool factor...

I could go on but I will stop there.

so my vote is Ricks Cafe.
Pick some cheese you like Luvs, I'll meet you there.

Maybe we'll see you there Cap. Like you, I love boats. Don't know if we'll cruise this trip but definitely will someday.

I cruise just to be aboard a ship again and we sure don't mind the service.

We cruise Holland America because it a more mature crowd and some of the ship's Masters today were junior officers that sailed on my ships and I get to spend a few watches on the bridge.

Even though I lived and worked in Ja I see nothing wrong with visiting the tourist places. My Jamaican family loves to visit those places too!

Dunn's River Falls is one of the top tourist attractions on the Island and we used to go there and picnic with the kids and loved it every time.

Some think that by doing the tourist thing it paints you as "uncool" and not "hip to the scene" (forgive the old school language)

Maybe my first post was in haste...I quess the "most cheesiness" would be a tourist trying so hard to be a local..
or a FBI Agent or CIA, we have met them both there! Ho-Ho-Ho ......Lightening up a spliff in a open public bar ??? come' on...... "Cool to be a Fool?"............"Stay Thirsty My Friends"

Gurigay, my tongue was planted firmly in my cheek as I typed my response. I simply say to each his on.....I love to watch the buss unload at M'ville....Many of those folks go home and tell stories of how they got out of the AI and saw the real Jamaica....Many of them get brave enough to walk off the property and see why many folks here like the random happenings of the strand and actually discover a new way to see Negril and move on from the programmed activities of the AI or Cruise...We did....almost 24 years ago...I love the age of discovery...

Discussing Rick's and Mville is a lot like throwing some OP in the fire.
In the end, it's all good all Jah's children got a place in the band.

I posted that same thought on here... then deleted because I didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings! Glad I'm not the only one, and I do stay thirsty!!!! We are all tourist, and trying to act like we aren't is just cheesy!

Guirgay... what ever you decide to do, if you are involved, will be a good time and just down right funny! I don't personally know you, but pics do tell a great story! I'll be happy to be your cheesy sidekick in April!!!!
