    stacko66,

Treasure Beach isn't too far from Negril although when I fished in Negril we didn't go too far offshore so maybe you can get a good captain to take you to some fish.

50 lb Rooster Fish is pretty big isn't it??? That's nice!!

Talla over in Treasure Beach told me he has seen it there were so many Mahi-Mahi that the water was pure green. imagine that??? He told me too that the Baracuda (I thought you couldn't / shouldn't eat) they leave it out and if the ants come and eat and die it's bad, if they don't it's edible.

hey john, yeah that was the biggest of the five we caught that day. We had two times that we had two of them on simultaneously, so you understadn that I have been spoiled. I'll have to take a look at the treasure beach possibility. I have a group of 5 and I know they aren't into fishing enough to spend the time and money for a full day trip, but I can be very convincing ;-) so we'll see. if I saw that many mahi mahi in one spot, I'd probably just dive right in!

    Re: Big fish

Stacko, I bring my rod everywhere I go. Have been going to negril for 15 yrs. I stopped bringing it a couple years ago, just wasn't catching anything. I have seen some bonito jumping but not very often. I am thinking of bringing it this feb with the idea of hooking some barracuda. I was in the keys last year and found a killer lure for cuda and was thinking about giving it a try this year in negril.
