Hi Rob,
Yeah but was Red Stripe a rice beer? I mean the true definition of beer uses only 4 ingredients: water, a starch, generally malted barley or wheat, yeast and hops. Just thinking about using rice to brew beerI hope it is in addition to a malted barley or wheat.

The 4 ingredient heritage of beer (hops barley water yeast) comes from the 1516 Bavarian Purity law. Most American style light lagers have traditionally added additional grains to the mix. www.thespruce.com/rice-or-corn-in-beer-353284
Packrat,
We just returned from spending the week in Sarasota. We were very disappointed that the B1G1 sale on Red Stripe did not not start until the Wednesday of our Saturday to Sunday trip. We stocked up early in the week on 12 packs and when I walked in Publix on Thursday I thought I had died and gone to heaven. $18.00 bucks including tax for a case is crazy. Luckily we were able to drink enough to take advantage of the deal our last few days of the trip. Had that sale been on the whole week, we might have put a big dent in the financials of the importer. I agree with the earlier comment that when you get them ice cold and drink them with your eyes closed, it almost seems like you are in JA.

Finally picked up a made in Jamaica six pack ($9.99) to celebrate Jersey City Caribbean day festival this past weekend. That first sip transported me right back home. Also picked up a bottle of Wray and Nephew overproof to mix with sorrel at the festival.
