I agree with Northcoast AND Rob. So many women travel to foreign and are completely taken by surprise at the amount of attention they get from men. And, forgive me if this sounds horrible, but these men usually take advantage of insecure women that in most other circumstances would have a hard time getting a date with a good looking, fit, guy. Again, it sounds bad but it is what it is. So that being said, a lot of them are naive to what really goes on with these guys and they think they are the "one", the love of these guys life. So Rob is correct because Yes, it IS what it seems. The problem is, everyone else knows what it is, and usually it's the woman that sees nothing.

This observation is not gender-dependent. Plenty of men want to be with a fit, beautiful woman, but don't possess the looks/personality/money to pull it off. Some of theses guys, like the gals. get overwhelmed with feminine attention. I suspect an equal number of men have been ripped off by their JA "GF's", but being male, they are hesitant to report to the world that they have been ripped off by a woman, for fear of ridicule. Plus, I suspect a male may be more likely to take the attitude that the loss in the theft is part of the price paid for sex(rationalization) and therefore not report it.

However, I doubt the male is rarely surprised their JA GF is in it for the $$$$, while it seems the female often is.....vive la difference!
