We bring our own drinks to the beach and the pool, not the bar or the restaurant. We still buy drinks from the bar and probably end up spending more than most people![]()

2nutz,sounds like we should vacation together!![]()
I love you guys, but I'm not sure even we could keep up with the 2 of you!
We usually call ahead .. & find out what they need .. bottle wise ..
& pickup a bottle or 2 @ duty free ..
(certain brands are expensive in JA.) ..
So, we don't really worry about the "guilt " of not buying ALL of our drinks were we stay ..
as the saying goes .. " what comes around ..goes around "
Why would Coco give us an empty fridge if they didn't want us drinking our own beer or tightwad cocktails?
We don't scrimp on going out and do purchase from the bar and restaurant. Never had a problem.
There's nothing wrong with buying drinks for your room/balcony/porch/. It's fine. No one is saying it's wrong.
One thing to add is that most places recycle the Red Stripe bottles and get money back. The cleaning lady where I stay asks that we keep them out of the trash. She will wash them out if we haven't already and she will recycle them for money.
Another perk of having ones cooler or frig in their room full of beer or whatever.....The bokkles can be recycled! LOL At one of the places we stayed..between 2 couples, one of the staff paid for his bus fare to Kingston to visit his family from our bokkles alone! Talking about drinking AND paying it forward.
Again, we do drink from our frig and cooler, but always frequent the restaurant and bar at the resort.....and pay full fare. Seems as if everyone is happy. If there is a small frig...it is meant to be used. Every now and again...everyone wants a small beverage at odd hours. As long as one is respectful, I think all is good.
