The entire 2 buses that stopped there ordered his wife's special rum punch at $5.00 a drink... Wondering where the proceeds go?
I`m just going to quote the most specific part of your useless original post for being so misguided by your thoughts...
``Where he has BUILT a bar on his property``

I see no wrong in this, and in fact good on him. He has Built from the ground up an establishment. That takes dedication, perseverance and great drive! It costs time, money and effort as well to do this. Remember this man also built up the one love bus, and as an example of what OTHER COMPANIES charge for a couple of hours driving around (starting prices around 200$US and you can negotiate down)... This man doesn`t ask for a base fee and negotiate and haggle around with you, but yet says i will pick you up, bring you around, and drive you back all they ask is a tip, which is at each persons own discretion as to tip, this is a really nice and great business model to begin with which has no use for trying to be bashed by somebody who might get jealous that somebody is growing and establishing himself in different sectors.

My friend that i met working on a resort, said his plan was to build his own cottages on his place so when friends visit, they have another option to stay, and i say YES DO IT because i know how this guy is and will offer me anything and everything to make me happy and my trip a great experience.

Nobody is restricted and the sky is the limit, keep pursuing your dreams and continuing to offer such great service! And i do I believe its called the `One love bus` for a purpose and not just coincidence.

The icing on the cake was at the end of the "tour" Lenbert came on our bus (different bus driver)....trying to make sure he was heard by yelling Tourist....Tourist .....very loudly...asking for 'tips'...One person said they wanted to tip the bus driver directly...where he replied tip me first...
This will be our last trip on the One 'LOVE' bus.
Let me see if I understand your thinking.........you are upset that someone that has successful business tried to help the poor community by bringing them some business? I for one am glad that was your last pub crawl. I would hate to be on the same bus with you in May when we do our 15th pub crawl.

Is "bringing them some business" really what he's doing? Handouts aren't business in my opinion, it's charity, and misdirected at that.

Not being a regular on this forum...or any other forum...as I work full time and have a family to care for, I had no idea it would create these responses. I do realize that I did not chose my words carefully on the original post, but it is what it is.
Anyway, the hubs and I have always enjoyed doing the crawl, but felt this time had a different vibe. Lenbert was not his usual happy go lucky self that we were used to, (yes..I know people can have bad days) and then going to his home bar for drinks was really strange. I had never seen a post on this, so I thought I would put it out there on this forum only. Had we known about this new stop ...we probably would not have gone, as I felt after the crawl that we wasted a precious afternoon of our wonderful vacation.
That being said....I think Lenbert is a good guy, and wish him well with his business.

*** On a different note, we went to Somewhere West for an afternoon....What a GREAT place...enjoyed lunch, drinks and swam in the saltwater pool...watching the Sunset. They will pick you up on the beach and drive you back for free...

    Your
    bringing them some business
from gregandkelly63's post was them obviously referring to bringing business to out of the way places that do not normally benefit from tourism. Nobody I know thinks that charity is a business except those that do charity for a living which Lenbert does not do. If you know Lenbert, you would know he gives a lot to the poor in his community and that (I believe) is not misdirected at that.

After you step in poop, it is never a good idea to keep scraping your shoes on everything you see. Just move on and we know you "wasted a precious afternoon of (your) wonderful vacation" because you had already made that perfectly clear... multiple times.

The same as you've asked about Lenbert's business, I wonder why you haven't asked where the "proceeds go" for Somewhere West's bar business?
Borntobeach....you do realize that Somewhere West also runs a hotel business and the owner who is from New York also started a tour business here in Negril a few years back.
You don't seem to have a problem with the Somewhere West owner adding a bar business to her repertoire but have issues with Lenbert doing the same. Hmmm....

    Re: One Love Bus

Sorry, but I thought the whole idea behind the bus was to show tourists spots they would not get to on their own in hopes that they would go back another time to increase business for those places. Going to Lenbert's personal bar that is only open when the bus comes through doesn't really fit into that category, nor does a shantytown stop.
