That bartender felt like crap about the lack of there machinery working as also that evening the wifi was down which causes problems with other of there computer systems as well. I speak to members of this staff almost daily i do not at all condone what happened with the credit card machine but that was in no part Kevins fault and I am sure Donna just wanted to make certain there was enough credit on that card. Did they handle it wrong by US standards , yes. But, if this were usa how do you think it would have been handled had that been a 1000.00 bill. Remember that 100 US in Jamaica is more than a weekly wage for most workers. Taking just a paper scan of what could be an inactive or at it's limit card could have easily costed a staff member a job. I am sorry you felt threatened but so did every employee involved because if that card turned out to not have credit some family could be homeless and starving in the near future. I am sorry to put it so severely but that is the Jamaican reality side of this. I would be pissed , yes very , very but I would step back and look at it from Jamaican standards and understand the urgency.
