Not positive of the price but I think it's around $25 to $30 to go on a glass bottom snorkelling trip to the reef. If you go to the reef bring some bread to feed the fish
    Cool, will do!

Do not bring bread to feed the fish, it is bad for the fish. Coconut, or dog biscuits, no bread or anything containing yeast.

Thanks for the tip tah, I didn't know it was bad for the fish but have been doing it for years. I stayed at hedo for a few nights on one of our trips years ago and went out on the snorkelling boat a few times a day and the guys who ran the boat always gave us bread to feed the fish. After that I generally brought crackers which I enter think have yeast and was raked just as well as the bread did. Never realized bread was bad for fish. About 20 yrs ago I went out with a fisherman to check and reset his big fish traps and he used stale loafs of bread for bait but I guess that wouldn't matter since the fish that ate that bread were destined for a pan or a pot lol. Very useful information and thanks again, last thing I want to do is harm and fish on those precious reefs I love to explore so much

Yeah, the yeast makes their digestive system swell up after they've eaten it.

If you're able to get back in without a ladder (which I really can't any longer - being female and Medicare eligible), going out to the reef with Keith on his catamaran is a great thing to do. I think he charges pretty much the same as the glass-bottom boats. He usually hangs out at the north end of the beach near SeaSplash or the former Seawind. We also snorkel off the cliffs - either at Xtabi or Rockhouse - and just buy lunch there afterwards.

Also, I'm opposed to any feeding of the fish. Snorkel operators did this routinely when I was in Belize recently and it made me very uncomfortable. At least in Belize they used "chum" - i.e., bait fish, not bread or any other substance not encountered by the fish in their natural habitat.

Here what I got in respond from Rhodes Beach Resort
Maybe it will be helpful to someone else

Simply give us a call at 876-957-6422 the day before. We offer
complimentary transportation and waive the $10 USD per person Day Pass
for guests staying in Negril area hotels. Pick up is at 9:30 am, and
return is 3:30 pm. If you want to leave earlier we can arrange for a
taxi to take you back to your hotel at the prevailing rate. We also
offer snorkeling equipment to rent or bring your own.

Our reef is one of the healthiest five mile coral reef formations on the
island of Jamaica and it begins at the foot of our Bayview Restaurant
and Lounge where you can also get something to eat or drink during your
visit. The food is very, very well received. You may visit our
Samuel's Bay website; http://www.samuelsbaymarinepark.com/ or our Rhodes
    Beach Resort website; http://www.rhodesresort.com/

    remember it's based on weather
permitting as sometimes the seas get rough and the visibility for
    snorkeling is poor.

Wow that's good to know they don't charge people in Negril to use their property. I would have payed anyways and when I do go I will definitely make sure to eat lunch and buy drinks there. I am looking forward to snorkelling on a different reef and hope it's a nice as I heard it was. Either way I just love being near and on the water and I am sure it will be a great time.
