Vodka & Tomatoe = Bloody Mary ..... Vodka & Clamato = Caesar .... the seasonings lead to a plethora of concoctions ...however caesaer should usually include celery ..pickle and glass rimmed with caesar salt ..at very least
Caesar invented in Canada .. clamato juice always a Canadian staple ..but little used elsewhere .. getting clamato juice in the U S of A ..even 10 years ago was all but impossible ..
FYI ... 2/3 beer 1/3 tomato juice = Red Eye ... appropriately named for those of us ..hair of the dog drinkers .. kills a hangover and induces a GREAT afternoon nap after just 5-6 servings ...LOL

I beg to differ but when I was working as a bartender back in college (class of 1963) we made a "clam digger" from tomato and bottled clam juice and the usual garnish as you describe.
